Position Description

We are seeking a dedicated Events & Marketing Intern to support the Events and Marketing Departments. This position is ideal for a college student who is studying events management and/or marketing, and is looking to gain tangible industry experience in a highly creative, collaborative, and fast-paced environment. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager, Events. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Help in the creation and editing of content for the newsletter.
  • Research and evaluate competitor marketing and digital content.
  • Perform market analysis and research on the latest trends.
  • Assist in the set up, execution and breakdown of various events including venue rentals and New Lab programmed events
  • Assist in the design and creation of Mailchimp campaigns and Eventbrite pages and manage RSVPs
    Maintain events calendar, draft event contracts, SLAs and internal briefs, and assist in tracking invoices and payments
  • Assist with social media promotion, and document events that are relevant to the company brand to use for New Lab’s social media accounts

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate course for Marketing, Communications or similar field.
  • High-energy, positive, friendly and committed to providing high-quality service 
  • Eager to learn about branding, marketing, and operations in the events industry
  • Feels comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving work environment where demands and priorities can change quickly
  • Is able to prioritize and handle multiple demands with composure 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and a keen eye for detail 
  • Takes initiative to acquire new skills in order to improve performance
  • Interest in developments in technology, science and culture
  • Experience with Google Suite is a must
  • Experience with Tripleseat and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

 

Preferred Availability

  • September – December to start, with the option to renew next year 
  • Must be open to working some early mornings and late nights
