To date, we have hosted over 1,800 middle school, high school and college students, primarily from local public schools. Our educational programming allows students to engage with resident entrepreneurs, learn about STEAM career pathways, and connect concepts from their classroom curriculum to real-world applications such as 3D printing for product design and robotics for space exploration.

If you are a teacher or educator in New York looking to work with New Lab, or want to help us expand this program, please get in touch.

HE³AT Program

The HE³AT Program is a year-long program that launched in September 2019 to bring together high school juniors and seniors from six local Brooklyn public schools for place-based learning experiences at New Lab. Through a customized design-thinking curriculum students are taught to approach problem solving like the 650+ designers, engineers, and entrepreneurs that are part of the New Lab community. Teaming up with peers from different schools with shared interests, students explore the impact of technology on healthcare, energy, education, environment, and agriculture (HE³AT) while receiving mentorship and guidance from relevant New Lab member companies.
