Event Recap
In the last several months, entrepreneurs in our community have pivoted in real time to focus on solutions for the COVID-19 crisis, leveraging frontier technologies for public needs. These same companies rely on our physical space in the Brooklyn Navy Yard to operate, prototype new products, and test their technologies.
Using our studio model as the framework—where startups, government agencies, corporations, researchers, and funding partners convene to create innovative solutions in response to unique challenges—Newlab partnered with StrongArm Technologies, Norbert Health, and other essential stakeholders to create the Return to Work Studio. This studio and overall pilot program was launched on May 11 and is focused on developing a tested approach to returning workers to their place of employment in a responsible manner. The Studio has pooled expertise in sensor and medical technologies to screen symptoms, conduct contactless temperature checks, monitor workplace proximity, and enforce social distancing.
Please join us for a discussion about this important topic, the new realities of daily operations, and how we balance member feedback and privacy concerns with health and safety guidelines as we bring workers back to Newlab.
