New Lab City: A Public-Private Partnership Program

New Lab City creates public-private partnerships to define the future of cities.

We believe that fostering a deeper connection between cities and entrepreneurs will yield important advances in technology for a more sustainable, resilient, and accessible future.

New Lab City’s goal is to cultivate a network of public partners who want to engage with emerging and frontier technologies in order to build more dynamic cities. We achieve this through the following programs.

Urban Tech Hub

The Urban Tech Hub supports a cluster of New Lab member companies who are building products to improve the quality of life in cities. The program is designed to provide resources that ensure the urban tech sector flourishes in New York City, a top priority of our partners at the City of New York’s Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The current cohort focuses on one or more of the following areas: energy, mobility, waste and water management, food systems, built environment and digital infrastructure, and across such disciplines as robotics, AI, and connected devices.

Offerings include access to the New Lab City team, which is dedicated to facilitating strategic introductions and connecting companies with resources, events and programming to help scale their businesses and the opportunity to pilot products or technology in the Brooklyn Navy Yard’s 300 acre campus.

The Circular City

Expanding New Lab's entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit beyond its walls, The Circular City program brings together city leaders, corporate partners, entrepreneurs and university innovators to address a specific set of urban challenges.
The Circular City's aim is to accelerate development, deployment and partnerships to achieve breakthroughs in emerging technology that positively impact urban life.
