Shell & Department of Energy Industrial Carbon Capture
Newlab launched two DOE-funded commercialization programs in Louisiana focused on carbon management and clean hydrogen, in partnership with Greater New Orleans, Inc., Shell, Battelle, Carbonvert, and LSU. The programs will develop pilot-ready concepts by connecting startups with regional industry needs—laying the foundation for real-world deployment of critical decarbonization technologies across the Gulf South.

Scalable Micro-Mobility Charging Infrastructure in New York City
To address growing safety concerns around e-bike battery charging for New York City’s 60,000 delivery workers, Newlab partnered with NYC DOT and NYCEDC to launch a six-month pilot under the "Charge Safe, Ride Safe" initiative. The program deployed public e-bike charging stations at five high-traffic sites using technologies from Swobbee, Popwheels, and Swiftmile. With up to 100 delivery workers participating, the pilot improved charging safety and generated key insights to inform future micromobility infrastructure and policy.

Automating and Digitizing Multi-Modal Ports
The Port of Monroe partnered with Newlab and Michigan Central to transform its facilities into a living lab for emerging logistics technologies. As part of Newlab’s Multimodal Logistics Challenge, the port hosted an eight-week pilot with Mythos AI, deploying an autonomous vessel to map berths and anchorages, creating a digital twin of the region. This initiative aims to advance automated, low-emission marine shipping and enhance supply chain resilience. The collaboration positions the Port of Monroe as a key node in testing and scaling innovations that support the reindustrialization of the Great Lakes region

Rapid Electrification of Global Logistics Fleet
Newlab and Mercado Libre launched a collaboration focused on building a multimodal EV logistics network to support aggressive decarbonization goals across Latin America. In its first year, the program launched pilots in low-carbon vehicles, infrastructure, and systems optimization to shape the future of last-mile mobility—identifying high-impact technologies to advance through real-world pilot deployments.
