Michigan Central Station Reopens: A New Era for Innovation in Detroit

Michigan Central Station reopened on June 6, 2024, marking a pivotal moment for Detroit's innovation community.
Panelists at Michigan Central OPEN Forum

We’d like to congratulate our partners Michigan Central on the reopening of Michigan Central Station. Marking a monumental moment for Detroit and the broader innovation community, thousands came to celebrate the station’s revival from June 6-16. Festivities included an opening night concert with performances by Detroit’s top artists, a watch party from the Newlab rooftop, and a forum hosted by Michigan Central and Newlab on the future of artificial intelligence and inclusive investing within innovation ecosystems.

Looking Forward

The revival of this landmark signifies a measurable commitment to cementing Detroit's status as a leader in innovation, particularly when it comes to critical mobility solutions. Building on the innovation ecosystem established by Newlab at Michigan Central, The Station will serve as a key draw for other cutting-edge technology companies to put down roots in the city.

At Newlab, we are thrilled to continue building on this momentum and solidify Michigan's role as a hub for mobility innovation.
